March came in like a lion and went out like a lion, too. Hopes of better weather were dashed as 70 degrees and sunny gave way to 35 and rain. The spring fun show was postponed to April 6 because of rain, but we still had fun the rest of the month. Shanna and Molly went to the RMI TriState “A” rated show in Cleveland with Shaq and Grace during Spring Break, and the rest of us had fun at the first MegFord Schooling Show of the year on March 29th and 30th.

Shanna had a wonderful show and got her first blue!  She came in reserve champion in her division as well.

Molly took Grace, a green mare owned by Stacie Mosley, intending just to school.

However, Grace behaved so well that they entered her in the hunter classes and took home some ribbons!  We were all very proud of Grace and Molly.

Stephanie had fun hanging out and cheering on Shanna and Molly.

It was pretty cold! And everyone came home exhausted.

The first MegFord started off with a bang; the jumpers were held in the bowl again on Friday night.  Stephanie was our only jumper this show, and she and Lily did admirably, coming in second and first at 2’9″ and 3′, respectively, against some good competition.

Saturday morning started off cloudy, but the rain held out long enough for our first few riders to ride in their divisions.  We had several first-timers – Amber, owned by Heather, who jumped around the course like a pro, despite never having jumped at a show before;

Kathy, who rode Graphic very well in a warm-up round at her first show ever;

and Priscilla, who had her first time out with Dora – they also had a fantastic warm-up round.

Mid-morning, the rain began to pour, but we soldiered on, with Tara and Moose having a flashback to their first show in the rain and Grace and Molly continuing their calm performance in the ring from Cleveland. Shanna and Steph wrapped up the day riding in the Mini-Medal and Open Eq on Bentley and Lily.

We were very proud of all of our riders! See you at the fun show this weekend!
